Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography Pricing

Before your little one arrives, we will schedule a consultation at the studio to give you an opportunity to see the studio space, review specific photo ideas, and choose from my large selection of hand picked outfits, wraps, headbands, hats, and other props to personalize your images. We will also discuss what colors you would like to incorporate into the session, as well as review how to prepare and what you will need to bring.

After you have welcomed your little bundle of joy to the world, have dad, grandma/grandpa, or a good friend give me a call or email and I will get you on the schedule. I always leave spaces open because after all, we have no clue when your little baby will actually arrive!

Newborn babies are ideally photographed within 5-10 days of birth. Babies under two weeks old sleep better, scrunch easier and don’t seem to mind being moved around. After those initial two weeks, it is a bit more challenging to pose them, but it can be done! Within two weeks of your session, you will receive a gallery link and password to view your images online. Each image featured in your gallery is hand edited and easily downloaded to your computer! Prints can also be purchased through the online gallery in a few simple steps. The gallery features a variety of print styles and sizes thru White House Custom Colour, one of the premier printing labs in the nation.

Many people question Raleigh photographer pricing today. When doing so, consider the behind-the-scenes expenses of the photographer. A person is paying for more than my time when having the images taken.

Ongoing Education

As a photographer, I invest in expanding my skills to ensure I shoot beautiful photos that capture the essence of the subject or subjects. Anyone can pick up a camera and take a picture. My goal is to create memories that people will treasure for a lifetime.

I take part in conferences, events, and classes. Doing so allows me to spark my creativity and find new ways to capture subjects in their best light. These activities also ensure I am trained in the latest equipment and tools, so my clients have access to the latest technology.

Equipment Expenses

Smartphone cameras take decent pictures. However, when a person works with me, they expect higher quality images. This requires professional equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting fixtures, and more

You are paying for more than my time. You are also helping cover the cost of this equipment. Thanks to advances in technology, I find I must regularly invest in new equipment to ensure every client receives outstanding images they cannot wait to share with others.

Studio Expenses

Maintaining a studio costs money. Besides monthly rent, I must also cover utilities, insurance, and more. I want my clients to feel comfortable when they come to the studio and invest in my studio to ensure they do.

When you come to the studio, you will immediately feel at home. Take advantage of the props, hand-picked outfits, and more to capture the best images. I include these extras in the newborn photography pricing as well as the pricing for other photoshoots.

A significant portion of the money I collect from each photoshoot goes back into the studio to ensure clients have access to everything they need for outstanding photos.

Location Expenses

However, some clients wish to have these photos taken at a separate location. This involves travel expenses and relocation of props and other items needed for the shoot.

The cost of my photoshoot sessions covers these expenses. Other expenses include insurance required when I am traveling.

Additional Expenses

I also incur additional expenses related to these photoshoots. For instance, I subscribe to different professional publications, maintain a website, and invest in advertising to ensure people know how to find me. I include the costs of doing so in the photoshoot prices.

Professional photographers such as myself have many expenses clients may not know about. The next time you schedule a photoshoot, take these expenses into consideration.

If a photographer advertises incredibly low prices, question how they can offer these low prices. What are they sacrificing to offer these low prices? Know that I refuse to sacrifice quality to offer rock-bottom prices, as clients won’t be satisfied with the results.

Variations Between Photographers

Don’t compare prices for different photography. For example, don’t compare the cost of a wedding photographer to the price of a newborn photographer. These two tasks differ significantly, which is why the pricing differs.

Finally, consider the number of photos provided. One photographer may provide ten polished images while another photographer provides 30 images. This influences the cost. I offer a minimum of 20 images with each photoshoot.

The only exception is the mini maternity photoshoot, which comes with ten hand-edited, high-resolution images. The maternity photography session pricing reflects the number of images provided.

Always ask me about the pricing for a photoshoot. I will happily share what I include in this price. I love what we do and would offer the images for free if possible, but I must make a living too. Please consider the hidden expenses when choosing any photographer to get images you love and will treasure for decades to come.
